Communication And Spatial Tracking RadiO (CASTRO)
The project Communication And Spatial Tracking RadiO (CASTRO) aims to develop wireless signal processing and network architecture solutions that support next generation applications by leveraging simultaneous location and communication. This is now possible thanks to the novel sparse multipath channel models in new wireless technologies with more bandwidth and antennas. The project will study the exploitation of location information for radio situational awareness, to improve receiver performance, reduce protocol overhead and improve resource allocation. Reciprocally, channel-state information will be used to extract localization estimations needed for improved network management and applications.
